Peter Massaro is an employment discrimination lawyer and former Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Administrative Judge who represents employees in workplace disputes involving discrimination, retaliation, and unpaid wages. He is the founder of Massaro Employment Law LLC, an employment law firm focused on representing employees in Georgia and federal employees nationwide.

Before entering private practice, Pete served for more than 7 years as an administrative judge for the EEOC, where he presided over hearings and issued decisions in hundreds of federal employee EEO cases. In that role, he adjudicated claims arising under the laws the EEOC enforces, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Rehabilitation Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA). Pete also conducted mediations and facilitated settlement discussions in employment disputes. Thus, Pete has substantial experience evaluating cases from a neutral, decision‑maker’s perspective.

Prior to becoming an administrative judge, Pete worked as Assistant Regional Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel for the Social Security Administration, where he defended the agency in litigation before the EEOC and the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). His work also included advising management on workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and requests for reasonable accommodation.

Today, Pete represents federal employees across the United States in matters before the EEOC and MSPB. Pete also represents employees in Georgia in cases involving employment discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour violations, including unpaid overtime. Pete also serves as a mediator for employment matters.

Pete believes that access to experienced legal counsel should not depend solely on a client’s financial circumstances. If he determines that a prospective client has a viable claim for which he could provide representation, he will make a good‑faith effort to identify a fair and workable payment arrangement, including alternative or contingent fee arrangements where appropriate.

Pete earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif and served as Lead Articles Editor of the Washington and Lee Law Review. He received his B.A., cum laude, in English from Bucknell University and holds an A.S. in Accounting from Suffolk County Community College.

He is admitted to practice law in Georgia and New York.

Outside of his work with Massaro Employment Law LLC, you can find Pete swimming laps, playing tennis, and enjoying time with his wife and their 2 children.
